BUTLER NAMED PRESIDENT OF TREDEGAR'S ALUMINUM EXTRUSIONS SUBSIDIARY
RICHMOND, Va., Feb. 27, 2004 – Tredegar Corporation (NYSE:TG) has named Albert A. Butler president of the William L. Bonnell Company, its aluminum extrusions subsidiary, effective March 8, 2004. Mr. Butler succeeds Douglas R. Monk as Bonnell's president. Mr. Monk, who also serves as Tredegar's chief operating officer, will retire May 1, 2004.
Mr. Butler was most recently senior vice president of operations and chief financial officer of Minolta–QMS, Inc., a manufacturer and developer of document printing solutions. He was also a member of the Minolta–QMS board of directors. Mr. Butler joined QMS in 1991 as vice president of materials and logistics. He was promoted to senior vice president of worldwide operations in 1994 and became managing director of the company's European business in 1998. Prior to joining Minolta–QMS, he was employed by General Electric Company for more than 20 years in a variety of management positions.
Mr. Butler has a B.S. degree in industrial engineering from the University of Florida and is a graduate of GE's Executive Development Program.
Headquartered in Newnan, Ga., Tredegar's Bonnell subsidiary is a major producer of soft-alloy aluminum extrusions primarily for the building and construction, distribution, transportation, electrical, machinery and equipment, and consumer durables markets. The company employs approximately 1,800 people at its facilities in Newnan, Ga.; Carthage, Tenn.; Kentland, Ind.; Aurora, Ontario; Pickering, Ontario; Richmond Hill, Ontario; Woodbridge, Ontario; and Ste-Thérèse, Québec.
